How to plant your Bi Silver card

  • Wet the paper
First, soak the paper thoroughly. And we mean really thoroughly! Only then can the paper biodegrade so the seeds can germinate.

  • Place the paper on the soil
Place the paper in a pot, or directly in the garden, on top of some potting soil. Preferably use seed or flower potting soil. The best time to plant outdoors is from May to October. Indoors, paper can be planted in pots year-round. Read below to find out the best time to plant the different types of seeds available.

  • Cover the paper with soil
Cover the paper with about 1 cm (maximum 1.5 cm) of soil. This will ensure the seeds receive enough nutrients, protection, and light to germinate. If the paper is covered with too thick a layer of soil, the seeds will germinate more slowly or not at all.

  • Water, water and more water
Initially, water the paper a little every day to keep it moist. It's best to use a spray bottle so the paper is evenly moistened. A watering can or cup without a spout can prevent the paper from getting wet all over, thus preventing all the seeds from germinating.

  • Sun, warmth and lots of love
Finally, place the paper in a bright, warm location. Be careful, however, to avoid a spot in full sun, especially in summer, because the paper can dry out and prevent the seeds from germinating. Now is the time to be patient! The first sprouts will appear after about 7-14 days, depending on the type of seed. Continue to give your sprouts love and attention even after germination. At this point, you can water them a little less than the first week.

When to sow?

Chamomile is an annual plant that blooms for a long time. You can sow chamomile outdoors between mid-March and early June. Cover the seeds with a few millimeters of soil and keep them moist. Chamomile grows in all soil types, is easy to grow, and prefers full sun. The seeds germinate about 7 to 14 days after sowing. The plant propagates easily by self-seeding, so there's a good chance you'll see it in your garden every year after sowing it the first time. You can use chamomile leaves to make a relaxing herbal tea.
